Bible Class During School? How Does That Work?

Ohio Law-Release Time Religious EDucation

In 2014, Ohio law, HB 171 (ORC 3313.6022) was passed in the Ohio legislature and signed into law by the Governor. The law allows public school students to receive elective Biblical instruction during the school day, under the following conditions:

1) Parental permission is required for child’s participation.

2) Program must be held off site of school premises.

3) No government funds can be used for this program .

**This has also been upheld by the U.S.Supreme Court for more than 60 years!***

The Curriculum

At the Lincolnview Bible house we use the Answers in Genesis curriculum. It is an apologetics (i.e., Christianity-defending) ministry, dedicated to enabling Christians to defend their faith and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively.

Who Comes to Bible Class?

Any student at Lincolnview Local schools can attend Bible Class (as long as parental permissions has been signed).  We currently hold class for students in grades K - 8 and look forward to expanding into High School in the future!

Currently over 90% of students at Lincolnview attend Bible Class....that's over 400 students per week!
